How to Cook For Fun and Money

By Patricia Hunt

Doing something you like to do, have fun doing it, and make money too. That all sounds impossible. But I did it and would like to share with you what I did and how I did it.

I was a stay at home mom. Raise four children. That meant a lot of cooking to say the least. When all the birds had left the nest I had to backup and regroup. I love to cook, but cafes and public place just did not get it. A friend mentioned working on a barge carrier boat. You stay on the boat about thirty days and cook for about eight to ten guys.

I thought about it a long time. I said what the heck and gave it a try. Man! I met people from all over the place. All different walks of life. Different cultures and backgrounds. I learned so much when it came to cooking, food, ideas, tricks and tips. I just wanted to share it with someone.

Some of my trials and errors and hilarious. While others will make your mouth hang open. Also I would like to share the idea of yourself. You can DO what you love and at the same time LOVE what you do. Some of the things you will be seeing you have maybe seen before. Some will make you say" yeah'.

Here is a fact I thought was odd. An Irish potato can be used to draw poisons from an insect bite. Place a piece on the spot and bandage it in place. It also works in a dish you have made to salty. Imagine that!

I hope to see you again soon.
